For those unfamiliar with Artemis - watch this video!
Artemis is a Windows PC-based spaceship bridge simulator game that that turns your computer into bridge console on a starship such as Helm, Weapons, Science, Engineering, or Communications. Once your ship is fully manned, you and your crewmates explore (and, more often than not, defend) the galaxy.
One player acts as captain and must co-ordinate these stations by gathering information and issuing orders. Success in defending the quadrant from the bad guys requires a co-operative team effort. If this sounds just like being on the bridge of a star ship in your favorite fictional TV show, its because that's EXACTLY what it feels like!
The system requirements for running Artemis are quite minimal. Chances are, if your computer is capable of connecting to the internet, it will be able to run Artemis just fine. There are only three requirements:
That's the best part - No! Star Trek Fans of the Northwest already owns a bridge license to the game and as such, we can provide you a link to download the client to the game from us.
If you enjoy the game and want to be able to run your own missions with your friends without us however, you will need to purchase your own Bridge License. The good news is it's rather inexpensive and can be purchased directly from the game developer if you're intersted in running your own bridge in between our missions.
So if this all sounds like fun to you, use the resources on this page to start training on the various consoles and get a feel for how to play the game. Once you have an idea of what positions you might be interested in, come join us on our next mission!
If you have no idea what Artemis is, start here by watching others play the game! If that looks fun to you, continue forth Cadet!
The helm officer is one of the most important stations on the bridge. The helm officer steers the ship, performs evasive maneuvers, and assists the weapons officer with getting in the best position to make a good, clear shot.
The weapons officer is responsible for defending the ship. Sure... that’s it... defense.
The engineering officer is responsible for the damage control teams as well as changing power levels between various systems to ensure peak performance... as well as changing cooling levels between those systems so they won't get damaged.
The science officer is responsible for scanning nearby ships and spatial anomalies to help the Captain determine who is friend or foe, as well as helps the weapons officer in determining the weaknesses of enemy ships.
The comms officer is responsible for all ship-to-ship communications, as well as setting Red Alert when necessary. As all comms are text-based, a decent typing speed is preferred for this position.
